Comisia Europeană adoptă măsuri pentru reducerea deșeurilor textile

Comisia Europeană a adoptat luni noi reglementări care vizează prevenirea distrugerii articolelor de îmbrăcăminte, accesoriilor vestimentare și încălțămintei nevândute. Aceste măsuri sunt fundamentate pe Regulamentul privind proiectarea ecologică a produselor sustenabile (ESPR), având scopul de a reduce deșeurile și de a promova practici mai circulare în sectorul textil.

👉 Obiectivele reglementărilor adoptate

Conform unui comunicat de presă citat de Mediafax, noile reglementări „vor ajuta întreprinderile să respecte cerințele privind distrugerea textilelor nevândute în temeiul ESPR”. Acestea stabilesc circumstanțele în care distrugerea va fi permisă, cum ar fi în cazuri de siguranță sau deteriorare a produsului, și introduc un format standardizat pentru raportarea volumelor de bunuri nevândute care sunt eliminate.

Se estimează că anual, în Europa, între 4% și 9% din textilele nevândute sunt distruse, generând aproximativ 5,6 milioane de tone de emisii de CO2, echivalentul emisiilor totale nete ale Suediei din 2021. Aceste măsuri vor contribui la încurajarea reutilizării și reciclării, esențiale pentru protejarea mediului.

👉 Termenele de aplicare și impactul

Regulamentele prevăd că interdicția de distrugere se va aplica întreprinderilor mari începând cu 19 iulie 2026, urmând ca întreprinderile mijlocii să intre sub incidența acestor reglementări în iulie 2030. Normele privind comunicarea informațiilor sunt deja în vigoare pentru întreprinderile mari și se vor extinde la cele mijlocii în 2030.

Comisara pentru mediu, reziliență în domeniul apei și o economie circulară competitivă, Jessika Roswall, a subliniat: „Sectorul textilelor este un deschizător de drumuri în privința tranziției către sustenabilitate... Aceste noi măsuri oferă sectorului textilelor capacitatea de a trece la practici sustenabile și circulare”.
