Valabilitatea cardurilor de energie a fost prelungită de către guvern. Acestea ar fi trebuit să expire la data de 31 martie 2024, dar au fost prelungite până la 31 mai 2024. Anunțul a fost făcut de către ministrul Finanțelor, Marcel Boloș.

Ministrul a declarat că această decizie este una dintre cele mai importante măsuri sociale decontate din fonduri europene în anul anterior și că aproximativ 2,8 milioane de locuințe beneficiază de această măsură. El a mai menționat că această prelungire a valabilității cardurilor este vitală pentru că încă există 1,1 milioane de beneficiari care au bani pe aceste carduri. Marcel Boloș a explicat că prelungirea valabilității cardurilor este necesară pentru a se asigura că măsura de ajutor pentru facturi nu se va risipi. Anunțul a fost făcut de către ministrul pe contul său de Facebook joi. Potrivit sursei citate, prelungirea valabilității cardurilor de energie este doar una dintre măsurile aprobate de către Guvern joi. Aceste măsuri au fost luate pentru a sprijini populația în contextul pandemiei și au ca scop reducerea impactului financiar asupra familiilor vulnerabile.
