Logo text Zach Cregger has checked into Resident Evil, with the first trailer revealing his take on the Capcom video game. There have been seven previous Resident Evil movies. And an IP play like this, on its surface, doesn’t seem like the natural next move for Cregger, who has risen to become one of the most in-demand filmmakers of original fare in Hollywood. Barbarian was a surprise success, while Weapons turned into an Oscar-winning hit that grossed $270 million globally. Both were firmly based on Cregger’s own ideas. But the filmmaker is said to have made a movie that takes the mythos of Resident Evil but is very much a standalone that feels like a Cregger movie. blogherads.adq.push(function () { blogherads .defineSlot( 'medrec', 'gpt-article-mid-article-uid0' ) .setTargeting( 'pos', ) .setTargeting( 'viewable', 'yes' ) .setSubAdUnitPath("ros\/mid-article") .addSize(,,,,,,,]) .setClsOptimization("minsize") ; }); Related Stories Movies 'Weapons' Filmmaker Zach Cregger Going Sci-Fi With 'The Flood' for New Line Movies Zach Cregger Brings 'Resident

Stephen Colbert Pitched 'Lord of the Rings' Movie Before 'Late Show' Canceled - Variety

Peter Jackson is discussing for the first time what it’s like working with Stephen Colbert on his recently-announced “Lord of the Rings,” saying he’s “never met anyone who knows more about Tolkien” than the late night talk show host. “He phoned me up a year ago — before he knew his show was going to finish — and said, ‘I don’t know if you’re interesting, but I’ve got an idea for a Tolkien movie based on the books that I think would be really good,'” Jackson told Variety at the Cannes Film Festival, where the director was honored with a Palme d’Or on opening night.

Spencer Pratt Punches Back at Claim He Doesn’t Live in Trailer: ‘I Don’t Have a House, They Burned It Down!’ - Yahoo

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt punched back against TMZ on Wednesday, shortly after it reported he was sleeping at a “swanky” Bel-Air hotel and not in the trailer parked where his burned-down house used to be; the TMZ report implied Pratt misled voters in a recent campaign ad where he showed the Airstream trailer and said, “This is where I live.” Pratt trashed the report during an interview with TMZ boss Harvey Levin afterward. He said the report — which said he has been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air for more than a month — was nothing more than “semantics” and that he was only staying in the hotel due to the “failed leadership” of Mayor Karen Bass (D).
