Miriam Bulgaru se califică în optimile de finală ale turneului WTA de la Montreux

Jucătoarea de tenis din Alba Iulia, Miriam Bulgaru, a reușit să se califice marți în optimile de finală ale turneului WTA 125 de la Montreux, Elveția. Este un turneu important, având premii totale de 115.000 de dolari. Bulgaru a câștigat cu 6-3, 6-3 în fața italiencei Camilla Rosatello.

În vârstă de 25 de ani, Miriam Bulgaru ocupă locul 183 în clasamentul WTA și a reușit să obțină victoria după o desfășurare de meci de o oră și 36 de minute. Această victorie a adus-o la un bilanț de 2-1 în confruntările directe cu Rosatello, jucătoare de 29 de ani, aflată pe locul 341 în clasamentul WTA. De remarcat că înainte, în 2023, Bulgaru a învins-o pe Rosatello în optimi la Stuttgart-Vaihingen, în timp ce aceasta din urmă reușise să câștige întâlnirea lor din 2021, în calificările de la Bellinzona.

După această victorie, Miriam Bulgaru și-a asigurat un premiu de 2.000 de dolari și 15 puncte WTA. În optimile de finală, ea o va întâlni pe învingătoarea meciului dintre Chloe Paquet din Franța și Polina Kudermetova din Rusia, partida dintre cele două fiind întreruptă la scorul de 6-4, 0-2.
