United Airlines a actualizat „Contractul de transport” pentru a include o clauză care cere pasagerilor să poarte căști în timp ce ascultă conținut audio și video în timpul zborurilor, informează CBS News. Conform noului contract, United poate „refuza transportul pe o bază permanentă sau temporară” pasagerilor care nu respectă o listă de reguli, care acum include ascultarea audio fără a purta căști.

Politica mai precizează că United poate elimina acești pasageri din aeronavă „în orice moment”. Reprezentanta United, Stella Balaskas, a confirmat într-o declarație pentru The Verge că politica a fost actualizată pe 27 februarie, menționând: „Întotdeauna am încurajat clienții să folosească căști atunci când ascultă conținut audio – iar regulile noastre privind Wi-Fi-ul îi amintesc deja pe clienți să folosească căști.” Balaskas a adăugat că extinderea Starlink la zborurile United anul trecut a făcut ca acest „să fie un moment bun” pentru a întări cerința privind căștile prin adăugarea acesteia în contractul de transport.
